The City of Doral
If you are not familiar with the City of Doral in Miami-Dade Florida, you are in for a history class!
The City of Doral goes back to the 1950’s when the first real estate projects started to develop thanks to a Polish immigrant couple, Doris and Alfred Kaskel; Doral (a combination of Doris and Alfred) began as a country club.
By the 80’s when the city was more developed, young families started to migrate to this area; the city went through unexpected growth that pushed the city to ask for incorporation.
Doral experiences a seven-year battle before being named a City and has a local government, services, and businesses that corresponded to the taxes residents paid.
Nowadays, the City of Doral has about 54,100 residents; according to the city, “More and more people are choosing Doral for their place to live, work, learn and play.” It has many parks and cultural activities; it is inviting, thriving and has a good quality of life.
In 2012, Doral launched the first dog-friendly facility, Trails & Tails Park, an eight-acre area that allows residents to bring small and large dogs off-leash to play. It has multiple wash stations, dog-friendly water fountains, and dog play areas. There is also a playground and access to other bark parks of the City.
The community has embraced this park, as many families are pet owners. The park is open Monday-Sunday.
